Plein air Painting
Plein air painting is a passion of mine, working out in the elements in front of my subject gives one a limited time to capture the subject in front of you, before the weather conditions change. These paintings may lack the finesse of studio work, but they are painted from the heart, trying to capture the atmosphere and recording a moment in time. Here is a selection of my recent plein air paintings, mostly from around the Island but also some from my travels.
I particularly like painting and recording the scenes and activity around Cowes and the River Medina, the boatyards and river scenes, as they are gradually being lost through new developments around the river.
These paintings are mainly in oils.
