The Undyed Blanket
The Undyed Blanket was a journey of discovery into undyed wool, knitting and spinning. It started out as a simple knitted patchwork blanket but it morphed into and art project that was displayed at the Ventnor Arts Collective Exhibition in 2019. As part of the project I researched the history of knitting and spinning. I learned how to use a drop spindle and spun some wool. I made lots of friends on my journey knitting this. It was also a diary of my life whilst I was making it and it travelled all the way to Switzerland and back vial Belgium, France and the Netherlands. Each square has a note on the back saying what type of wool it was, where it came from and what I was doing and where I was knitting it.
