About

As Poet in Residence at Art-House-Life I am currently involved in collaborative projects with Joanna Kori and the other artists at the Studio.

Previous collaborations have included 'City Scape' with the documentary photographer Janey Devine resulting in an innovative exhibition of images and words; 'Dark Side Port Side' poetry film project set in Portsmouth; 'Diving into the Wreck' and 'Flyweight' live literature productions with artist and film maker, Matt Parsons, and 'Zones of Avoidance' poetry films with Abigail Norris (can be viewed on my zones of avoidance wordpress site).

I have produced and hosted an episode of the BBC Radio 4 programme Tongue & Talk, exploring Portsmouth dialect through poetry. Since moving to the island I have worked on a zine project for teens with Boojum & Snark, and have curated spoken word events with the artist Steve Rushton for Ventnor Fringe. Most recently I have been involved in a collaborative art and poetry project to celebrate 200 years of British Rail on behalf of the Community Rail Partnership.

My poetry collections include The Zig Zag Woman, Charcot’s Pet, The House Where Courage Lives and Zones of Avoidance which won a Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry. I am currently on a mini tour with my latest live literature production 'Flyweight' which explores the world of boxing and female boxing in particular.
