So who's running IWOS?
Isle of Wight Open Studios has newly launched as a Community Interest Company (CIC), with a dynamic team of creatives leading the way for the event to grow & prosper well into the future.
Our three Directors (Cultural Producer - Georgia Newman; Artist - Caroline Underwood; Manager of The Imaginarium - Charlotte Anderson) are overseeing the company structure, strategic direction and overall running of IWOS. Together they are working with a wider Action Team to support all areas of the Isle of Wight - including online! The IWOS team ensures participating artists are supported and championed through this annual event, collectively aiming to foster a vibrant arts scene on the island that appeals to both seasoned enthusiasts and young, passionate creatives.
Here’s what our three directors have to say about why they’re excited to be part of Isle of Wight Open Studios:
Georgia Newman - “I am committed to facilitating meaningful connections between communities and the rich tapestry of contemporary arts and culture. I’m excited to go on this journey supporting the IW Open Studios team, to forge partnerships and ensure everyone can experience and participate in great arts and culture on their doorstep.”
Caroline Underwood - “I think that having one Island-wide coordinated event is an important element of the local cultural offer. I’m happy to be working with such a strong team to form a new organisation and bring new life to this idea. Isle of Wight Open Studios has such valuable potential to make the creative community here visible and provides a meaningful way for artists to connect with local residents and tourists alike.”
Charlotte Anderson - “For as long as I can remember I have always loved seeing people develop a passion for something new, watching them grow and progress and start to see the beauty in everyday things and life just seems to make what we do all the more worth-while. Giving people a chance to see the creativity of others through Open Studios is even better.”
