Anna Keen Artist

Born on the Isle of Wight, I studied for 6yrs at the Beaux Arts School in Paris. I then lived and exhibited for many years in Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, London, Scotland and the Alps. In 2018, I returned to the I.O.W. I am Artist in Residence of the Cowes Classic Boat Museum and of Dimbola Museum, Freshwater Bay.

I paint Landscapes of Power and Defence within historic, present, and future environments.

Whether obsolete, abandoned, current, or at the project stage, these systems continue to interact and affect us.

Military and industrial structures, coastal defences, power stations, seas and tidal rivers, ships, oil-rigs, or green energy projects.

Technically, my oil paintings are made using ancient techniques: genuine earth and mineral colours, mixed with linseed oil and pine tree resin, on hand-stretched linen canvases. 

My drawings are on high quality paper, using the finest watercolours and traditional inks.
